HYTHE Town - who have topped the Kent League table for most of the season - need to win their remaining three matches to become champions for the first time since the late 1980s.

But they face both their biggest rivals for the championship when they take on VCD Athletic on Easter Monday followed by Holmesdale on April 18.

Town's home clash with VCD on Easter Monday is looking more and more like a title decider, though the North Kent outfit have a game against Tunbridge Wells on Saturday that could make the title race clearer.

Before that, Holmesdale - still relative novices at this level - take on well-placed Herne Bay on Good Friday where a win for the Bay could virtually end the Bromley-based outfit's chances.

Hythe skipper Tommy Adlington looks likely to face VCD in what will be his final game of the season before starting a two week ban.

Influential midfielder Dave Cook - just one of half a dozen players who came from Bromley Green to join Paul Fisk's title chasing squad - is however also out through suspension, having begun a four game ban last weekend,
