Hythe miss out on a cup final
HYTHE Town's hopes of a league and cup double disappeared when they crashed 4-1 in Wednesday's second leg of the Bulmers Premier Division Cup semi-final away to holders Erith Town.
Though Mo Takalobigashi scored for the visitors, goals from Kevin Spriggs, skipper Dean Kearley and Ted Hart wiped out Hythe's 3-1 advantage from the first leg at Reachfields last week.
And Collins grabbed the 5-4 win on aggregate for the south Londoners early in the second period of extra-time.
But Town now return to their number one objective of a first league title of the modern era when they take on Greenwich Borough at home tomorrow, Saturday.
The Kent League Cup Final - which takes place at Folkestone's Buzzlines Stadium on Saturday, May 2 now sees the holders Erith facing Croydon who beat one-time title challengers Faversham by a surprisingly comfortable 6-0 over the two legs of the other semi-final.
Erith beat Hythe 1-0 in a scrappy final, also at Folkestone, last May.
