Hundreds enjoy town's free Party in the Park
HUNDREDS of people enjoyed the wonderful weather and free activities at Edenbridge's Party in the Park on Sunday.
The event, at Stangrove Park, celebrated 50 years of the Stangrove Estate and 40 years of the Spitals Cross estate and was enjoyed by original residents of the estates as well as enthusiastic youngsters.

PARK LIFE: People had a smashing time at the Party in the Park
There was music from the 1950s and 1960s, rock climbing and laser tag at the event, which cost £3,000. All activities were free though as a result of funding from numerous groups including Edenbridge Town Council, West Kent Housing Association and the Great Stone Bridge Trust. Audrey Batchelor, who helped organise the event, said: "The park was full up. It was absolutely perfect."

“Does anyone think its odd that the council has wasted their money to celebrate 40 years of spitals cross, one of the most run down deprived areas of the town!!
When my flat gets to 40 years old, will get some money to have a party - i think not.
Edenbridge council need to think about where their spending the money in this time of recession, rather than jacking up my council tax to help pay for things like this.”
