Human remains found at foot of White Cliffs
POLICE are investigating after the discovery of human remains at the foot of the White Cliffs of Dover.
They were discovered by a member of the public on the shore near the South Foreland lighthouse at St Margaret's on Sunday afternoon.
The position of the find and the tidal conditions made a recovery by land unfeasible, so Dover lifeboat was called out to recover them from the shore using its inflatable craft.
Three volunteers crew members were guided to the location of the remains by a Coastguard team on the cliff top. On their return to the Port of Dover the lifeboat crew handed them over to Kent Police.
