Holmes' hat-trick helps Jaguars complete demolition of Lynx
JAGUARS 5
LYNX 0
JAGUARS came out on top of this hard-fought match, but the Lynx were unlucky to lose by such a large margin.
The difference between the sides in the first half was an excellent strike by Richard Holmes and a number of first class saves from Jaguars keeper Ben Mistry.
Harry Prowse was strong in defence for Lynx and Cem Kundak made dangerous runs.
However, as Lynx pressed in the second half, they were caught on the break with Molly Dewey clinically finishing two goals and Richard Holmes completing his hat-trick just before the final whistle.
TIGERS 2
COUGARS 0
BOTH teams cancelled each other out in the first half with great defending from Richard Petrick and a brilliant save by Tigers keeper Sam Lord.
Tigers broke the deadlock in the second half when a Cougars free-kick landed at the feet of Lewis Doherty, who slammed a shot into the back of the net.
Cougars increased the pressure on the Tigers goal with the best chance to equalise falling to Ben Baillache, but Tigers defended in numbers.
In the final minute and against the run of play, Doherty broke free and with a neat finish sealed the win for the Tigers.
PUMAS 1
LIONS 3
TWO quality goals from Matthew Penollar and a long-range effort from Bobby Beke saw Lions edge out Pumas, who had taken the lead with a well-taken goal from Ethan Spencer.
Both goalkeepers did well to keep the scores down.
WOLVES 3
BEARS 1
TWO runs on goal by Joe Wyndham, one in the first half and the second midway through the second, gave the Wolves a comfortable 2-0 lead.
But the Bears got what they deserved with a shot from Spencer Chapman finding the net after a deflection from the Wolves defence.
George Lipscombe scored for the Wolves just before the final whistle
RAMS 4
COLTS 0
THE stand-out player was Rams' Martin South, who scored one goal and set up the other three, through Robert King (2) and Alex Holmes, as Rams ran out comfortable winners.
The scoring was interspersed with good passing from both sides, especially Sam Penollar and Thomas Arnott for Colts, while Natasha Mack made important saves to keep Colts in with a chance of getting something from the match.
However, Rams soaked up the pressure with Jason King solid at the back.
KINGS 1
ACES 1
THIS top-of-the-table clash had both teams desperate to win. Sam Platt broke the deadlock halfway through the first half to give Kings the lead.
Aces came out strongly in the second half and Joe Downard found a superb equaliser when he burst open through the Kings' defence.
Kings could have gone ahead, but great goalkeeping from Zak Lawson and excellent defending from Sam Botevyle kept them out.
Aces had their own chances with Alex Thomson making great runs and Joe Downard nearly finding a winner in the last minute.
