Top marks: Lotty Easterling and Bethany Rushworth were delighted with their results at Herne Bay High
Lotty Easterling, 16, cried tears of joy after opening her envelope, revealing an A* in English, four As, two Bs and two Cs as well as a merit for health and social care.
She said: "I can't believe I cried but I'm just really shocked.
"To open the envelope and see that was amazing."
Bethany Rushworth, 16, shared her delight after achieving two A*s and five A grades, as well as a distinction in business.
She said: "The hard work was all worth it."
And Colin Powell, also 16, was also relieved after scoring three A*s, three As and the rest Bs.
He said: "I stayed in when my friends went out but it was worth it to get these grades."
Head teacher Dr Claire Owen said: "High-quality teaching, excellent staff-student relationships and the provision of unrivalled support for individual students have been key factors in achieving these results, although fundamentally the examination success must be attributed to the focus, commitment and hard work of the individual students.
"I am sure that everyone in Herne Bay will share our pride in the achievement of these students and wish them well."
