Herne Bay leave it late to win league opener
A DELIGHTED Barry Morgan praised his young Herne Bay side for snatching three points at the death in Saturday's Kent League opener away to Norton Sports.
With just a minute of normal time remaining, young Jamie Turner, one of three inspired second half substitutions, pounced to give Bay a deserved 2-1 victory.

Well done: Bay players celebrate Darren Marsden opener against Norton Sports.
They had taken a first half lead courtesy of Darren Marsden before Norton's John Emmerson was controversially dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Although down to 10-men, Norton equalised after the break through Ryan Rook's brilliant free-kick before substitute Turner sealed all three points for Bay late on.
Morgan said: "We collected three points at the end of a seriously hard game against a Norton side that was always going to compete against us.
"I thought in the second half, with only 10 men, that their work rate was astonishing.
"But we spoke pre-season about being mentally strong and we showed that for much of today.
"We certainly showed it in the way we saw the game out. I was very pleased."
