Gobble up our turkeys quickly as big day approaches
IT WOULDN'T be Christmas in Hawkenbury without the snaking queue outside A Fuller Butchers of customers clamouring for their turkeys.
While staff work flat out inside the family butcher dealing with scores of orders, customers enjoy the mulled wine in an increasingly jovial queue snaking down the road.

The butcher this year celebrates its 40th anniversary and has been based at the Nelson Road shop the whole time.
Steve Fuller told the Courier: "The last two or three days before Christmas is always quite a lot of fun. We've been working every day in December. Everyone is really getting in the mood. Most of our customers have finished work and coming here is part of the build up to Christmas. They catch up with friends and neighbours in the queues, with some mulled wine."

He said despite harder economic times, orders for the festive table remained the same.
Mr Fuller, 42, whose mother Margaret works in the shop along with five staff who are all well known in the community, is also helped by his wife June and other family members in the run-up to Christmas.
Mr Fuller said: "We are expecting a busy Christmas and turkey is still the main attraction at Christmas."
