GILLINGHAM'S promotion hopes suffered a blow after they crashed to 2-0 home defeat against lowly Barnet.

Veteran striker Paul Furlong gave Barnet the lead on 23 minutes before an early second half goal from John O'Flynn completed the win.

The results leaves the Gills in 6th place, still only three points off second spot.
