IT'S a dog's life for pampered pooches at Canterbury College, which is introducing the city's first free dog grooming service.

Dog owners are invited to take their canine companions along to the campus on New Dover Road, where students from the Animal Care centre will offer a range of services starting from Monday.

High-maintenance hounds will be bathed, groomed, clipped and stripped to professional standards, courtesy of students on a City and Guilds Dog Grooming course.

All dogs are welcome, as long as they are flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and safe to handle.

Animal Care section manager Frances Craig said: "We're excited to be able to offer our dog grooming services to the public.

"We employ qualified professionals to work alongside our students, ensuring the highest standard of service."

The sessions run on Mondays from 1.15pm to 5.30pm, Tuesdays from 9am to 12.15pm and Wednesdays from 1.15pm to 5.30pm.
