Folkestone Saga chief quits after just two years in post
SAGA'S director-general has quit the organisation after little more than two years in the post.
Dr Ros Altmann, who has carved a reputation as a fierce champion of pensioners' rights and is a former government adviser, has left the company.

Saga, Shepway's biggest employer, said her departure followed a restructure of its lobbying arm.
Dr Altmann said that she would like to spend more time in London.

In a statement, she added that she enjoyed working with Saga on new research and thought leadership and policy issues on finance, lifestyle, social care and retirement.
Dr Altmann refused to expand on her departure when the Herald contacted her last week, except to say: "Keep up all the good work you're doing down there."
The company dismissed as "pure bunkum" a report in The Times that suggested her departure was abrupt or linked to Saga's decision to shut its social networking site, Saga Zone, at the end of this month.
Dr Altmann was appointed to the new DG role in September 2010 and tasked with highlighting issues faced by the country's 21 million over-50s, the group targeted by Saga with its host of services.
During that time, she was ever-present in the press and broadcast media tackling the issues faced by older people.
The company's statement said: "Saga has decided to restructure its presence in the advocacy and lobbying space and, after much careful thought, Ros Altmann is stepping down as Saga's director general.
"She will of course be a loss to Saga as we have been fortunate to have had the benefit of her input and expertise for two and a half years.
"We wish her well for the future."
Saga will not be seeking a successor.
