Faversham school fete helps fundraisers hit minibus target
THERE was plenty to celebrate at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School's annual fete as fundraisers hit their target for a new minibus.
About 300 people flocked to the fair on Saturday, which raised more than £4,000.
The school's parent teacher association has been working for two years to raise £20,000 for the bus to take students on PE and field trips.
Youngsters tried their luck on the coconut shy, beat-the-goalie and catch-a-rat stalls while plucky volunteers got a soaking with a wet sponge.

Also popular was the driving school, which allowed children to drive a real car around the field under supervision, and a rowing machine challenge.
Meanwhile students entertained crowds with live music and an Irish dancing display .
Tracey Rose, chairman of the PTA, said: "It was an amazing day and we are really proud of all the hard work from the team of fundraisers. The minibus is very important as we need to replace one of the existing ones and good transport really helps the children's education.
"There was such a lovely atmosphere and the children absolutely adored it."
