Family spooked by 'ghost' at bottom of Christmas tree

LOOK closely. Can you see the ghostly face of a baby peering out from the bottom of the Christmas tree in this photograph?

The picture has become a Facebook phenomenon since mechanic Dan Wood uploaded it to the web.

Dan, 32, who works at Doddington Service Station, said: "I just innocently uploaded the photo of our Christmas tree.
"But within minutes I had received dozens of messages and texts from friends pointing out what appears to be the ghostly image of a small child peering around the tree.
"It has all been a bit of a shock. I have tried to recreate the photo since but the face has never returned.
"Now when I look at the picture I can't believe it. It really shocked me.
"Some friends have joked that it is the Ghost of Christmas Past from Dickens's story A Christmas Carol come to haunt me because I am Scrooge.
"If that's the case, I may need to buy more presents for my little girls. It was certainly hard getting to sleep that night."
Dan lives with his fiancee Helen Godrey, 29, and their two children Lana, four, and newborn baby Erin.
It is not the first time the couple have been spooked.
Helen said: "Sometimes I have heard whispering in my ear when I have been alone in the house.
"The first time it happened five years ago it scared me so much I had to phone my mum and then Dan to get him to come back home."
Dan says he encountered a similar experience but put it down to an overactive imagination.
He said: "I have never believed in ghosts but I have no way of explaining what you can see in the picture."
