SEVENOAKS Rugby Club continued their excellent form with a 28-6 victory over Bromley, a result that propels them to the heady heights of fourth spot in London 2 South East.

While the performance may not have been as fluid as recent matches, Oaks did more than enough to beat lowly Bromley, who have only two points to their name.

"It wasn't a pretty game, but it was a comprehensive win and a vital two points," Golds said.

"We felt we dominated the play and the set piece was outstanding.

"It was as good as it has been in a long time and that gave us a really strong platform.

"James Garcia and Jon Pollock scored tries and this shows just how dangerous we are when we get it wide."

Despite some early pressure from Sevenoaks, it was actually Bromley who opened the scoring with a penalty.

Oaks soon responded with a penalty of their own to make it 3-3.

Despite the pack dominating the set pieces, Sevenoaks made hard work of the possession and failed to capitalise on their opportunities for most of the first half. The Bromley fly half and full back kicked well to keep the home side pinned back.

The highlight of the half was Jon Pollock going over for his fourth try in as many matches, after some well executed passing and the score was 8-3 at half-time.

A change of tactics in the forwards, bringing on the lively Ian Collins, kicked started the game and the Sevenoaks pack seemed rejuvenated and began to look dangerous.

The catch and drive from the lineout was extremely successful and Bromley were put under some intense pressure, resulting in a good forwards try from Collins.

Despite some good kicking again from the Bromley backs, Sevenoaks gradually began to dominate the game and an excellent try from the ever exciting Spanish flyer, Garcia. A late try in the corner for family duo, Guy McLaughlin offloading out of the tackle to Simon Tree, ended the score at 28-6.

Oaks welcome Warlingham to Knole Paddock on Saturday, a team one place above Golds' side and he knows a tough match awaits his troops.

"We know we have got a long way to go and we have some big games coming up (Oaks play the current top three, Warlingham, Hove and Tonbridge Juddians in the next four games). If we are going to be pushing for a promotion then these are the games we need to be winning.

"We are very much focussed on Saturday's hugely important game against Warlingham.

"It will be a test to see where we are in terms of the league and aspirations for promotion.

"We are confident, but not too confident, there is a lot of hard work to be done."

The match kicks off at 2pm at Knole Paddock.
