Facebook harassment: Dover teen escapes jail
A TEEN who pursued his victim on Facebook having already received a harassment warning has been handed a suspended jail term.
Luke Allen, 18, of Maison Dieu Place, Dover, was sentenced on February 8 at Canterbury and St Augustine Magistrates' Court.
He pleaded guilty to harassment without violence.
Between November 7, 2012 and January 10, 2013, Allen pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment.
After he received a harassment warning on November 7, he continued to make unwanted contact via Facebook, phone text and face-to-face, causing his victim alarm and distress.
Magistrates sentenced Allen to prison for 84 days, suspended for 12 months, and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a £80 victim surcharge.
