ARTIST Tracey Emin is donating three pieces of work to a charity postcard auction in her home town of Margate.

In 2009 and 2010 Miss Emin supported Margate Harbour Arm's charity postcard auction by donating a small piece of art, and the auctions raised over £11,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust and the RNLI.

This year she has drawn three pieces for the auction, which this time will benefit Pilgrims Hospices.

Fiona Sherriff of Margate Harbour Arm said: "We're overjoyed that Tracey has done this for us. Her involvement really raises the profile of the event and boosts the amount we can raise."

The auction will involve 100 pieces of original art, no bigger than a postcard, submitted by celebrities, artists and members of the public.

They will all be auctioned on September 10 with the artist's identity revealed after the hammer has fallen.

Fiona added: "This is becoming a fixture in Margate's calendar now. We always get some excellent pieces of work and it's great fun."
