Driver escapes after stolen van crashes

THE DRIVER of this stolen van fled shortly after it crashed into a hedge on the A264 near Ashurst.

On Wednesday officers were still trying to trace the driver.

Kent Police said the VW Polo Caddy went sideways after rounding a corner before landing upside down at about 5.30pm on Tuesday.

It crashed between Stone Cross and the village sign for Ashurst.
