HOOP DREAMS: The combined Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks XV had an easy win
Tunbridge Wells/Sevenoaks under 13: 69
A COMBINED Tunbridge Wells /Sevenoaks under-13 side representing West Kent travelled to Canterbury for an evening kick-off, having played each other in the Kent semi-final three days earlier. Oaks had been the only side to beat Wells all season.
Playing 3 x 20-minute periods, the West Kent boys led by Wells Christy O'Brien got off to a flying start, Max Douch opening the scoring, His fellow centre, Jonny Hampson, went over for the second, with Charlie Rigby converting.
Patrick Kirwan and Ben Dewhirst added the next two tries as missed tackles opened huge gaps which the boys exploited.
The pack won good clean ball and West Kent were on top in every phase of play. Douch added his second with Rigby converting just before the end of the first third.
East Kent came back in the second period, their tackling more intense at 0-29 down as they had to stop the flow.
West Kent battled through a scrappy period, then came out on top as Henry Chesney, Jonny Hampson and Jack Belither added further tries, two converted by Rigby.
West Kent led 50-0 going into the final period and, although the intensity had slowed down, the visitors were determined to keep a clean sheet.
Rigby enjoying the time on the ball his forwards were giving him continually tested the opposition at fly-half, varying his game.
Hampson and Douch in the centre were outstanding and it was the latter who finished all the moves in the last quarter for three more tries and a superb 69-0 win.

“Congratulations to all players. Any reason why the team was made up of Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks players only?”
