Defeats for Dover, Folkestone, Ashford and Hythe - but Deal take a point
It proved a bad day for sides from south East Kent with defeats for Dover, Folkestone, Ashford and Hythe - though Deal Town drew 2-2 at home to Sevenoaks.
Conference South leaders Dover lost for only the second time this season - beaten 1-0 by old Beazer and Doc Martens League adversaries Worcester City in the midlands.
Whites' main title rivals Newport County beat Bath City 1-0 down in Wales to take over at the top of the table - two points ahead of Andy Hessenthaler's Dover side.
At the Buzzlines Stadium, Folkestone Invicta lost 1-0 for the third successive home game.
This time it was to Zamaretto Midlands pacesetters Hitchin Town in the FA Trophy.
The only goal of the game came two minutes from time despite everything that outstanding keeper and undoubted man of the match Jack Delo could do for the home side.
Hythe failed to bounce back from Tuesday's FA Cup replay mauling at Woking and were beaten 1-0 in the FA Vase at Herne Bay where Lawrence's goal 12 minutes after the break was enough to give Bay the victory.
Struggling Ashford crashed 4-0 at Merstham where reserve keeper Dan Mason's debut didn't go as well as he might have wanted.
Deal boss Derek Hares will probably be disappointed that his side failed to hold on for all three points against Sevenoaks at The Charles Ground.
The Oaks shocked Town by taking the lead on just two minutes through Creasey, but two goals from Mo Takaloo took Deal 2-1 ahead by just a quarter of an hour.
Shinners struck to earn Sevenoaks a point 10 minutes from time.
Reports in the Dover, Deal and Sandwich Express and the Folkestone, Hythe and Ashford Herald on Thursday.
