Dead pups dumped on pub doorstep
A BOX of dead puppies has been found outside a derelict pub in Ramsgate.
Margate charity TAG Pet Rescue was alerted to the deceased litter, which was abandoned outside the Prince Harry pub last weekend, and immediately launched an appeal to find the mother.
The tiny newborn animals were individually wrapped in newspaper and left in a cardboard box on the pub steps.
By the time they were spotted by a member of public, they were dead.
TAG co-founder Debbie Channing said: "It's always devastating news.
"Thousands of dogs are put down every year because there are no homes for them and people breeding their dogs if they can't look after them isn't helping."
The charity in Farm Valley Road, Manston, wants the dog's owner to come forward so her pet's health can be checked.
Mrs Channing said: "A dog losing all its puppies is unusual and could be a sign of a malnourished dog and we would like to help.
"We need to identify the mother."
The RSPCA is investigating the case and is appealing for anyone with any information to come forward in confidence.
Anyone with information about the puppies or who would like to find out more about having pets spayed or neutered can contact TAG on 01843 822931, visit www.tagpetrescue.org.uk or call the RSPCA on 03001 234999.
