Danny Webb nets MotoGP ride
Danny Webb's MotoGP future was secured this week when he signed for the Andalucia Cajasol team.
The 18-year-old's season had been thrown into doubt when WRB, the team he signed for at the end of last season, was forced to pull out of the 125cc championship due to financial problems. But, following a frantic trip to Valencia, the Pembury youngster was delighted to sign with a team he feels can help him achieve his ambitions in the coming two years.
"This is their first year in GPs, but they won the Spanish Championship last year," Webb said. "The people they have employed have got a lot of experience and certainly know what they are doing. They know how to win races and are going to be as good as WRB. To some people it may seem that going to a new team I'm taking a step backwards. But the people working here have been in GPs for 20 years. I'm sure it's going to be a competitive ride. They've got financial support of the Andalucian government - they'll throw anything at it to win races!"
