Daniel Lloyd has iTunes hit a week after drowning in Canterbury pond
A TRACK written and performed by tragic busker Daniel 'Taihg' Lloyd is riding high in the music charts.
The record, Shooting Stars, is taken from a video of Daniel performing in the city centre that gained 50,000 views in less than a week after he was found dead in Reed Pond, Canterbury, near Howe Barracks.

He was discovered just hours after the body of his friend and fellow musician Hugo Wenn, a beatboxer and former pupil of Archbishop's School, was dragged from the water last Monday.
Police have now confirmed the pair both drowned and released two men who were arrested in connection with the deaths, although one remains on police bail while investigations continue into alleged drugs offences.
The single was released to raise money for Daniel's two-year-old daughter, Kaia Bluebell, and has reached number 5 in the iTunes singer/songwriter chart, sandwiched between singles by the likes of music giants, Ed Sheeran and Damien Rice.
Folk, pop and hip hop band CoCo and the Butterfields have also dedicated their song, Time Machine – which was released as a free download last Wednesday (Feb 1) – to the memories of Daniel, 25, and Hugo, 17.
The city has been united in grief since news of their deaths emerged.
Their heartbroken families and friends have paid tribute to the well-loved performers.
Hugo lived in Derringstone Hill, Barham with his parents Fiona and Robert Wenn, brothers, Oscar and Felix, and sister Dulcy.
After the bodies were formally identified last Wednesday, Hugo's family released a statement describing their "lovely" son and brother.
They said: "Hugo was a lovely boy who lived life to the full. He enjoyed every waking moment and enriched all those whose lives he touched.
"We feel privileged to have known him, albeit far too fleetingly. He will be sadly missed by many and will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace our darling Hugo."
Father-of-one Daniel Lloyd, who lived in Wincheap but spent some time living on the streets, was a "much loved son, brother, father, grandson, nephew and cousin," according to his family.
Their collective statement said: "We are obviously devastated by Daniel's death. Daniel was a larger than life character who will leave a massive hole in our lives.
"His talent helped to reveal a unique and beautiful soul and we will miss him dearly. During our time of loss we ask to have the space to grieve and take stock of the huge hole that he leaves in our lives."
As news of their deaths broke, the city experienced a public outpouring of grief.
An ever-growing shrine to the pair, complete with floral tributes, candles photos and heartfelt messages, appeared by the war monument within days.
Memorial events have included a sombre candlelit vigil outside Lloyds bank last Tuesday, and a street party on Friday evening to celebrate Daniel's short but influential life.
The pinnacle came on Saturday, when the city centre ground to a standstill as hundreds packed into the Buttermarket to pay their respects.
As part of "Hugo and Daniel's Day," guitarists Nick Tompkins and Paul Bisbrown played to the gathered crowds, and Alex Richardson beatboxed.
The day was concluded poignantly when a number of heart-shaped balloons were released into the sky as a symbolic send-off. Moving tributes have flooded social networking sites, including Facebook, where a page titled RIP Hugo Wenn and Daniel Lloyd has attracted 2,633 likes.
The tragic pair have also been immortalised on YouTube, where footage has been uploaded.
CoCo and the Butterfields will play a memorial gig at the Picture House in the High Street from 8.30pm to 11.30pm tonight (Thursday).
