Dack of the net as Gills pair sign up
RAMSGATE have signed two Gillingham youngsters until the end of the season.
Goalscoring midfielder Bradley Dack and full-back Jack Parter join on work experience from Gills and both are likely to be in the squad when Rams take on Dulwich Hamlet at Southwood tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).
Boss Jim Ward said: "Darren Hare (Gills youth coach) got in touch and said these lads need games against men as they're coming to the end of their apprenticeships.
"Dack has scored 20 goals from midfield for the Under 18s and Parter can play left-back or right-back so they're good signings for us.
"Gillingham are doing us a favour and we're doing them a favour."
Dack and Parter joined the club's bonding night last night (Thursday) with Ward red-hot favourite to win the table-tennis tournament.
He said on Wednesday morning: "No doubt I'll win, put your money on the old man!"
Dulwich are in the Ryman 1 South promotion shake-up but Rams are out to put a stop to the Londoners' fun and games.
Ward, who has Pascal Ebigbo available after injury and suspension, said: "Simon Pettit and Ian Pulman have come up with a new name for us.
"We're 'The Spoilers' now.
"I've got a of pals at Dulwich, the likes of Francis Duku and Junior Kadi, and they're a good side.
"All the time Bognor and Whitehawk are in this league it's very difficult for anyone else to get promoted.
"Dulwich have a chance of winning the league if they win all their games from here but they've got to get past us first."
A fit and firing Ebigbo gives Rams every chance of upsetting the visitors.
Ward said: "He's had this three-game ban but he wouldn't have been able to play anyway because of a problem he's had with his back.
"We think he's over that now, which is great news, because on his day he's a massive threat.
"We've been thin on the ground but Warren Schulz (broken toe) is the only one missing now.
"He'll be out for at least another month."
Ward handed a debut to local centre-half Anthony Woodward in the goalless draw against Eastbourne Town last week and he'll also be in the squad tomorrow.
The boss added: "The reserves manager said he was close to being his best player so we decided to give him a chance
"He reads the game great.
"It took him time to get into the game, then he did well before tiring, which is what you'd expect."
