Cyclist dies in Sandwich after feeling unwell during bike ride
A CYCLIST died on Sunday - an hour after complaining of feeling unwell.
Kent Air Ambulance landed on Ramsgate Road, Sandwich, at about 12.40pm on Sunday, May 6, to help a man in his 50s who had been out riding with friends and suffered a cardiac arrest.
The A256 was closed for about an hour whilst paramedics battled to save the man’s life.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “We were called following a report a cyclist had become unwell whilst riding along the cycle path beside the dual carriageway.

“Officers attended and the road, the A256, was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
“The man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was confirmed dead at 1.20pm.”
