JUST days after we exposed Kent Highways for their lacklustre approach to pothole repairs, workmen turned up to finish the job.

Last week we reported how two had been filled but five others inches away were ignored.

But on Wednesday the shunned craters in Farmcombe Road, Tunbridge Wells, were filled.

Kent County Council said it had filled in a "whopping" 31,000 holes since January.

And the authority is stepping up efforts to fix the highways by diverting more crews to tackle the unprecedented workload.

Highways boss Nick Chard said: "This means all potholes on a stretch of road are filled at the same time."
