Milton and Fulston: 0

Sevenoaks Town: 3

SEVENOAKS Town finally got to play their Umbro Kent Senior Trophy tie against Milton and Fulston United at the sixth time of asking on Saturday, and cruised to a 3-0 win.

The tie, played at Greatness Park, was settled by a double from Joe Creasey and Billy Shinners' 13th goal of the season.

Town's reward is a quarter-final clash at Deal Town on Saturday, a team they beat on Tuesday in the Kent League Cup, so both sides will be familiar with each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Manager Simon Jones was relieved to have finally played the tie and was pleased with the result.

"It was quite a strong performance from us in the end and it was good to get the match out of the way," Jones said. "I felt we were in control for the majority of the game, although in the first half we lacked a little bit of quality in the final third. Saying that we had three of four one on ones, but we were a bit complacent, being greedy and perhaps showed a bit of a lack of respect for the opposition.

"In the second half, we upped our game and showed a lot more quality. Once the first goal went in, Joe Creasey conjured up a great finish, their resistance went so it made it an easier game for us."

Milton and Fulston got to the interval on level terms, but their resolve was broken in the 52nd minute when Creasey finished expertly from inside the box. Town added a second when Shinners fired home after Joe Minter's powerful free-kick had been parried by Dan Smith.

Creasy had the final word in the 90th minute when he curled his shot into the top right hand corner of the net.

Jones wants his team to be sitting in two semi-finals by the end of Saturday evening and hopes the match will be won by the best footballing side.

"There is not much between the teams, we have met them three times already this season," he said. "Hopefully we can take a step forward on the day and produce a little bit of extra quality to win the game."

Town stormed into the semi-finals of the Kent Premier League Cup with a superb 5-3 away win at Deal Town on Tuesday evening. Goals from Billy Shinners, Joe Minter, Chris Walker, Daniel Atpoveta and Danny Twin gave Town a 6-4 aggregate win. The only blemish on the night was the sending off of Shinners, who picked up two bookings.

SEVENOAKS Town Reserves continued their good run in the Kent Intermediate Cup, knocking out Division One side Chatham, and now progress to the semi-final against Dartford or Hythe.

The away side fell behind on seven minutes to a wonder strike from 18 yards via Chatham's centre-forward, Craig Pryer.

Town equalised in the 55th minute when Mickey Smith minutes found Anthony Pace free, and he stepped past two defenders and fired home.

Both sides had chances to go ahead, but it was Town's Baffour Kawda who grabbed the winner on 79 minutes.

Squad: A Porter, M Baddley (S Blythe), R Littlejohn, S Clarke, M Fofana, J Wood, M Smith (capt), J Phillips, J Wade (A Barton), A Pace, B Kawda. Sub unused: S Cosby.
