Cow leads Otford man merry dance
A man was struck with a peculiar sense of deja vu following strange encounters with a cow, twice in as many nights.
Harry Nye, of Bubblestone Road, was walking home with a friend on Friday after a night out at the Rising Sun in Twitton Lane.
He said: "When we came down Pickmoss Lane there was this most enormous cow completely blocking the path. It was huge.
"I tried to get it back into the field, but it was not having any of that."
Mr Nye said the cow nonchalantly made it's way towards the busy Sevenoaks Road.
He thought he had it cornered when it crossed towards the parade of shops, much to the amazement of passing motorists.
He said: "At one point, outside the Post Office, it turned around and looked at me as if to say 'what now?'
"At this stage it became like a Strictly Come Dancing routine in Sevenoaks Road.
"The other cows were all crowded around in the field mooing in appreciation.
"Eventually I managed to get it back on to the footpath and I left it there."
The following evening, when Mr Nye was walking home along the same route, he came across two police cars.
They had been called out to deal with an escaped cow.
"They sent for the farmer and he turned up," said Mr Nye.
"They got it back, but it had gone hopping off down Sevenoaks Road."
