Councillors use cash pot to improve roads
BUS services, new speed limits and pedestrian crossings will be introduced across Thanet using a fund that allows county councillors to improve local roads.
Thanet's county councillors announced the full list of schemes to benefit from their £25,000 fund for their community at a meeting last Tuesday. The eight members funded Sunday bus services (numbers 32 and 35), reduced speed limits and dropped kerbs as well as new and improved crossings to increase road safety.
Applications for the 2012/13 Member Highway Fund are being processed now. The deadline is July 31. If you would like to propose a scheme, contact your local county councillor. For details of the Thanet members, go to bit.ly/kccthanet
