HELP is being sought to find those responsible for fly-tipping in Limpsfield, at a time when clearing up dumped waste across Tandridge is costing taxpayers £60,000 a year.

Tandridge District Council has launched a fly-tipping appeals page on its website.

One of the incidents the district council is looking for information about is the dumping of a pile of white sacks in Kent Hatch Road, Limpsfield, on January 15.

The sacks bear a distinctive Icelandic inscription, which is believed to relate to animal feed.

Community services committee chairman Cllr Tony Elias said: "We are asking residents to help us identify where fly-tipping has come from, or give us any information about who may be responsible.

"Fly-tipping ruins the environment and costs a lot of money to remove."

Visit www.tandridge.gov.uk/environment/streetcleaning/appeals.htm for a list of fly-tipping incidents the council needs help with.

Up to £500 is available for information leading to a prosecution.

Residents can also call 0800 068 2070 to report fly-tipping or e-mail amenityservices@tandridge.gov.uk.
