Council to back bend safety plan
A CAMPAIGN to make a danger bend safer has won the backing of the parish council.
Neighbours living near the junction of the A25 and Hosey Hill in Westerham are calling for measures to stop traffic crashing into their homes.

Resident Ray Camline told a Westerham Parish Council highways and lighting meeting, attended by 26 members of the public: "This area of Westerham has been badly hit by a series of car accidents. Vehicles have lost control on the bend coming from Brasted, coming down Vicarage Hill or Hosey Hill.
"This must represent an accident blackspot. We're frightened in our houses and we're frightened to walk the pavement."
Residents said the junction needs a mini-roundabout, which would slow traffic from all three directions but would still leave space for lorries to turn up Hosey Hill.
Problem
Committee chairman Cllr David Jewitt said he endorsed the residents' ideas for a mini-roundabout and changes to speed reduction signs.
He said: "We've proposed that there should be a 20mph speed limit there. We haven't made much progress but that's what we put forward.
"Unless something like a mini-roundabout is put in, no amount of signing is going to solve the problem."
Resident Gina Rogers said neighbours were not in favour of bollards on the corner as it would make it even more difficult for lorries to get round the bend.
But others on narrow parts of the A25 wanted the idea looked at for other sections.
