Vincent Benedict of Kent company Hypnosolution.co.uk, and graduate of the Nick Davies Sports Performance Coaching Masterclass, feels that the England team need to be more positive and confident in their abilities, if they are to proceed any further in the Euro2012 tournament.

"England are playing Italy tonight and very few people give them a chance. England have a lot of new names in this tournament and it is noticeable that they don't have an exciting name, who is capable of creating havoc to the opposition's defence. We don't have a Ronaldo, Balotelli or Klose. However, we do have a team whose strength is their support of each other. Rooney disclosed recently that visualisation is a big part of his pre-match discipline. This is a great idea and used by many of the best athletes in the world. However, this should be only part of his discipline. He needs to practice this visualisation with the rest of the team, with a sports performance coach leading this visualisation. Everything needs to be done as a team to ensure that everything, externally, feels right. They must feel as if they are one unit, which is able to take on anything that is thrown at them. When everything feels right, the England team will feel as part of something special, where everything is achievable."
Vince, who is best known as the creator of the 8 Steps to Permanent Weight Loss, states that when circumstances are right, athletes are able to achieve such a high degree of concentration that the outside world is for them something totally seperate. What is happening around them doesn't disturb them at all. Everything becomes easy and effortless. Think of Ronaldo and how easy he makes everything look. Such concentration has been described by footballers as a feeling of being inside a glass bubble, where everything is shut out, except those things to do with the forthcoming match. Come on England!
