Clutch of medals put youngsters in swim
FAVERSHAM Swimming Club returned home from the Ashford Development Gala at Dover with their heads held high.
Faversham's swimmers secured no less than 15 personal best times. Young Blaine Ramsden smashed his PB by six seconds as he powered his way through the boys' 12 years 100m individual medley, stopping the clock at 1:33.83. This dynamic dash earned him a well-deserved second place.

Harry McKenna's blistering pace in the boys' 10 years 50m backstroke ensured he snatched first place in a personal best of 48.56, knocking nearly four seconds off his previous time.
The Tesco-sponsored awards of the gala were given to Lauren Scott and Emily Holt for their impressive swims throughout the competition.

Faversham swimmers who took first place included: Molly McKenna in the girls' 12 years 50m butterfly, in a PB of 41.79, and 100m individual medley; Molly's brother Harry in the boys' 10 years 50m backstroke, PB of 48.56 and 50m freestyle; Flora Westlake, girls' 15 years 50m breaststroke; Nicola Crouch, girls 9 years' 50m breaststroke; Ben Collins, boys' 15 years 50m freestyle.
The 12 years and under 4x25m mixed medley relay team all finished their legs in first place.
Second place: The 12x25m breaststroke squadron relay team; Poppy Boorman, girls' 11 years, 25m breaststroke; Lauren Scott, girls' 10 years 25m backstroke (PB of 50.15); 11 years and under 4x25 metre mixed freestyle relay team; Richard Catton, boys' 12 years, 50m freestyle and 11 years 50m butterfly; Rebecca Crouch, girls' 15 years, 50m backstroke and 18 years and under 50m freestyle; Blaine Ramsden, boys' 12 years, 100m individual medley (1:33.83); Jasmine Locke, girls' 15 years, 50m butterfly; the 11 years and under 4x25 metre mixed medley relay team; Abbie Collins, girls' 15 years, 50m freestyle.

The development gala was won by Dover on 260 points, with Folkestone second 240, Margate third 227, Faversham fourth 223 points, Ashford fifth 213 and Hythe sixth on 159 points.
