A 21-YEAR-OLD nicknamed Tinkerbell has been killed by a drink-driver in a hit-and-run crash while on holiday in Ibiza.

Francesca Foulkes, 21, of Leafy Glade, Wigmore, was run over as she crossed a road in the popular clubbing resort of San Antonio on Sunday.

She was pronounced dead at about 3.20am on Calle Salvador Espriu, near the Es Paradis nightclub.

Miss Foulkes, who was on holiday with her friends – some of whom saw the horrific accident – had been due to fly home on Monday.

Her devastated father, Julian Foulkes, a Kent Police special constable, paid tribute to his daughter and said she had always enjoyed living life to the full and will be terribly missed.

He said: "She was a very keen dancer and would go to Pineapple Dance studios in London. As well as being outgoing and popular, she was also extremely kind and considerate to others. She was always willing to lend money to her friends, even if she didn't have much herself."

Sources on the party island confirmed that the driver of a blue Ford Focus, a 24-year-old Spanish man, had been arrested after fleeing the scene. He was over the drink-drive limit and tested positive for several illegal drugs, including cocaine, cannabis and crystal meth.

He appeared in court on Monday charged with drink-driving and failing to stop and to come to the assistance of an injured person.

Miss Foulkes, a keen clubber, was the third pedestrian to be killed in Ibiza this summer and the sixth person to die in a road accident.

The British Embassy in Madrid has provided assistance to her family.

Miss Foulkes lived at the home of her parents, Julian and Gina, and sister Natasha, 16. She leaves behind her boyfriend, Adam Best, 23, with whom she was planning a trip to Mexico later in the year.

After attending Rainham School for Girls, Francesca went on to work as an account officer for Kings Hill firm Cabot Financial for three years.

A colleague told the News: "It's absolutely dreadful. She was so lovely – a real party girl with a dainty little voice. We knew her as Tinkerbell or Princess Fran and the world will be a worse place without her."

Website Facebook was flooded with messages of condolence. One user posted: "You were the kindest and most gorgeous girl and will be missed so much."
