Club's first comedian ponders the unknown
Describe yourself in three words?
Happily ultimately pointless.
What is the most stupid thing you have done?
Thinking of my rapidly decaying internal organs. Perhaps stand-up comedy was not the best lifestyle for longevity.

What is the most stupid thing you have ever said?
"It's 3am, let's order seafood in this dirty restaurant." The next day I suffered appalling stomach spasms and outpourings, only cured by sitting next to Anne Widdecombe on a plane.
What's the weirdest heckle you have had?
I am too busy listening to the voices in my head to hear what anyone who shouts out.
What is your most annoying trait?
Blind fury with inanimate things.
Who makes you laugh and why?
Men in suits sliding on oil and falling in some sick.
What's the funniest thing about the current government?
They think we don't notice their utter ineptitude.
What was the funniest thing about the last government?
"No more boom and bust."
You are a bit of a science buff. Can science be funny?
I hope so or my current work has been an utter waste of everyone's time. Science allows you to talk about everything in the known universe and ponder on things in the unknown, so hopefully you can find something funny.
What made you become a comedian?
Something happened in my childhood, I imagine, that allowed the error of sanity that has led to this career.
What would you tell a budding comedian?
Think carefully – do you have any other choices? If not, it is wonderful and frightening.
What is special about the Horsebridge gig?

Robin Ince is at the Horsebridge Comedy Club, Whitstable, on Friday, April 27. Bar from 7pm, gig from 8pm. Tickets cost £8 (£6 concessions) from www.horsebridge -centre.org.uk
