Christmas concert for cancer charity
Get into the Christmas spirit with The Railway Swing Band's charity Christmas concert next week.
The east Kent based band, which was formed in 1992, plays a mixture of Swing, such as Ellington, Goodman, Basie, Miller, and more modern compositions. They play only charity concerts and perform about twelve times a year.
On Wednesday the chaps will strike up a tune at St George's Church, High Street, Deal, from 7.30pm. Conductor Dave White, who joined the Royal Marines Band in 1962 and has taught music throughout Kent, said: "It is nice to be able to do something one enjoys, have fun, and help others at the same time."
Tickets for the concert cost £8 with proceeds going to the Pancreatic Cancer Charity.
To book call into Sound House, in the high street, go to www.railwayswingband.co.uk or pay on the door.
