Charm of the Irish at theatre
CELTIC celebrations abound at The Tom Thumb Theatre when The Fureys' Davey Arthur (right) sets foot on stage next month.
As well as bringing a little bit of Irish charm to the tiny Cliftonville showplace Davey brings more than 30 years' experience of playing with one of the Emerald Isle's top folk bands.

The oldest of the brothers, Eddie Furey left home in Donegal in 1966 to travel to Scotland at the time of the great folk revival where he met and shared accommodation in Edinburgh with the then unknown folk singers Billy Connolly, Gerry Rafferty and Alex Campbell.
In 1969 with his brother Finbar, he was the special guest for the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem throughout the USA and Canada. In 1971 he moved to mainland Europe where he toured for seven years with Finbar, building up a huge following – particularly in Germany.
Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics is said to have credited Eddie as teaching him his first chords on guitar when they met up in the North East of England while Dave was still a teenager.
Listen out for some of his hits from 7.30pm on Monday and Tuesday, September 6 and 7. Davey's son Patrick who has followed the family tradition joins him on stage.
Tickets cost £8 from tickets@tomthumbtheatre.co.uk, www.wegottickets.co.uk or call 01843 221 791.
