A 21-YEAR-OLD has been remanded in custody in connection with an attack which left a 35-year-old fighting for his life.

Ruben White, 21, of Kingswood Road, Gillingham, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with grievous bodily harm. He will appear in court again on August 31.

The victim, who suffered head injuries, has been in a critical condition at Medway Maritime Hospital since the incident in Balmoral Road, Gillingham at 8.20am on Saturday.

Police closed the road, close to the junction with Avondale Road, for more than four hours while they carried out an investigation, .

Three other men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further investigation.
