Cass quick to make his presence felt for league leaders
NEW boy Brendon Cass marked his Folkestone Invicta debut with the only goal of the game as Neil Cugley's side won 1-0 at Metropolitan Police on Saturday.
Cass coolly passed the ball into the net from way out on the left after Cops keeper Mo Maan's poor clearance went straight to James Everitt whose simple yet superb pass to his new strike partner set up a chance that still needed quite some taking.
That came five minutes before the end of the opening half.
Folkestone had to expect a fightback from the Police side who had won seven of their last eight games with the other one drawn.
But when things wouldn't go their way thanks to Invicta's outstanding defence and keeper Jack Delo the home side's frustration was obvious as poor tackles on veteran midfielder Jimmy Jackson and centre back Liam Friend both earned yellow cards that could have been far worse but for the leniency of poor referee Woolford.
Postponement of their last three home games has meant that Cugley's team have played seven away games on the bounce - and won five of them
The 15 points gained on that run has taken them back to the top of Ryman One South - despite the 10 point deduction by the Ryman League after the club were forced to enter into a Creditors Voluntary Agreement early last month.
