Canterbury gymnast Gore looks to Rio 2016
CANTERBURY gymnast Keziah Gore is hoping to return to action as soon as she can in the new year after admitting 2012 was too quiet for her liking.
The 17-year-old battled it out with friend and five-time British champion Frankie Jones for Great Britain's sole individual rhythmic gymnastics spot at the London Olympics.

But having lost out and been named first reserve, this essentially ended her hopes of a busy 2012, with no European or World Championships on the calendar.
And to make matters worse, in September Gore, a pupil at St Anselm's Catholic School in Canterbury, picked up hip and foot injuries that will sideline her for the start of next year too.

"The first part of 2012 was good for me but the second half not so much as I missed out on the Olympics and there weren't any other competitions to look forward to," said Gore, who benefits from being a member of the Lloyds TSB Local Heroes programme.
"I had quite a relaxing year as I didn't compete that much and then I picked up an injury, so it has been a bit frustrating.
"The injury isn't too bad, though, as I am still able to train, but it just means I won't be 100 per cent for a little while.
"And that is the most important thing for me after having a quiet 12 months, getting back to action as soon as I can.
"Hopefully the injury will clear up as it has already been too long and then I can concentrate on getting back to action again."
Despite losing out to Jones this time around, Gore insists there is no animosity between the two, although she isn't about to let lightning strike twice in 2016. She said: "It was a little bit frustrating to be first reserve but at the same time it was Okay because I didn't have too much pressure on me.
"And Frankie definitely deserved to go, so I couldn't begrudge her that, although the long term goal for me is now definitely Rio in four years time.
"I went and watched her compete in London and it really inspired me.
"Now I want to be in that position in 2016."
