Camera fixers say they will carry on
A FAMILY business that has specialised in repairing cameras for Jessops for the past decade has insisted the future is still bright.
The high street photography chain went into administration on January 9 and had for years contracted Thomas Camera Services, of Draper Street, Southborough, to do all repairs of Canon cameras from across the country.

Bryan Thomas, the founder and managing director, of the firm, said: "We are sad about the collapse of Jessops, which will leave a large vacuum in the trade, but the company is looking forward for new options."
The fallen camera giant is now being administered by the accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers, which has told any customers who had bought gift vouchers or paid deposits that they won't get their money back.

But Mr Thomas promised he would honour all current repair claims that are within warranty and still fix any cameras that had been sent to them by Jessops regardless.
He added while he regretted the loss of a major customer like Jessops, he was optimistic about the future for his firm, now celebrating its 25th year.
Mr Thomas, whose wife and daughter also work with him, said: "We are a family business who employ 18 local people and have been in Tunbridge Wells since 1987 and in Southborough for 15 years."
The outlook for the high street has been gloomy in recent weeks, with other major brands such as HMV and Blockbuster also entering administration.
However, Mr Thomas told the Courier he remained positive that local businesses like his could continue to thrive and was keen to remind the community that his camera centre remained resolutely open for business.
