Well we are keen to know your video game memories as later this month the Game Expo East Kent or otherwise called GEEK 2013 is taking place at the Winter Gardens, in Margate from February 21 to 24.

Anyone can take part. The easiest way is to Tweet Dan @dansimpsonpoet with the hashtag #geekpoem or scroll down and comment to us on the ThisisKent form below.

Your entry can take any form: individual words, sentences, bits of poems, thoughts – anything. Your words can be serious, funny, true, made-up, simple, elaborate – it’s up to you! You have until Wednesday 20 February to send in your words.

The poem will be performed at Game City Nights as part of GEEK2013 on February 23.

Here are some questions and prompts to get you thinking about your submission to the poem:

What’s the most epic thing you’ve experienced in a game?

What’s your favourite game? Why? Any memorable moments?

What was your favourite childhood game and why?

Why are games important? What would you say to convince a videogame sceptic?

What’s your geeky pursuit & why? Sci-fi/fantasy, video/boardgames/RPGs, comics/graphic novels, sci/tech?

Who’s your geek hero and why?
