​SITTINGBOURNE’S attempt to play their third Rymans League match in six days was spoiled by the rain as the referee abandoned their home match with Chipstead after 16 minutes.

He called a halt when the ball got stuck in standing water on the Bourne Park pitch, though the puddles had been there from the start.

Sittingbourne are due to be back at the ground on Saturday when Folkestone Invicta are the visitors.
