MATT BOURNE headed Sittingbourne to victory over Ashford in last night's Ryman League South local derby.

The Brickies took a second half lead through Hicham Akhazzan but Ashford, still looking for their first win of the season, fought back to level through Paul Jones.

In and end-to-end finish Sittingbourne won it when defender Bourne headed home from close range after 77 minutes when Nick Reeves flicked on a corner.

Both teams are in FA Cup action this weekend, Sittingbourne go to Horley on Saturday and Ashford are at home to Mile Oak on Sunday.
