Border Agency team arrests illegal workers
ILLEGAL workers in Folkestone and Dymchurch have been arrested in recent UK Border Agency operations.
Officers from the agency visited Tandoori Hut in Dymchurch on Friday, December 7, where they found a 48-year-old man from Bangladesh who had overstayed his visa.
On the same night, checks at Bengal Spice in Canterbury Road, Folkestone, found two other men from Bangladesh, whose visas had also expired.
All three are now in immigration detention centres, pending their deportation.

Similar operations also discovered illegal workers in Maidstone, Canterbury and Harrietsham on the same day.
Jackie Fowler, Head of the UK Border Agency local immigration team in Kent, said: "We are carrying out operations across Kent to track down people who are breaking immigration law. Those who are here illegally should be in no doubt that they will be found, arrested and removed from the country.
"Companies tempted to try to undercut competitors by deliberately employing illegal workers should be warned that they will face heavy fines."
The businesses involved were handed penalty notices for employing illegal workers
