Body of a "local man" discovered in New Romney

A MAN's body was found yesterday in a drainage ditch in New Romney.

The body, believed to be that of a local man in his 40s, was found in water off Church Lane.

Kent Police was called at 3.50pm yesterday and Kent Fire and Rescue helped with the recovery.

A spokesman for the police said: "Officers attended and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
