Bloody tale of murder and magic
IT IS going to get bloody when Icarus Theatre Collective presents Shakespeare's gruesome tragedy Macbeth at Canterbury's Gulbenkian Theatre next week.
Choreographed fighting, stunning lighting effects and the fascinatingly-named "bloodwork" combine to create a gripping first scene as the Scottish warrior and his doomed king return from the wars.

"It blends original verse and original music with gothic design, making it perfect for audiences new to Macbeth or already familiar with the play."

The set features a series of cleverly concealed light boxes which illustrate Macbeth's progression to treacherous murderer.
The Gulbenkian's quirky stage area will also be the setting for some strange goings-on with a banqueting table.
Miss Jones said: "In the banquet scene a huge banquet table seamlessly appears. But you will have to go to see the play to see how."
