FIRE swept through a three-storey house in Maidstone Road, Chatham on Thursday morning.

The blaze, believed to have started in a chimney broke out at 2am.

Two people in the property had already got out when firefighters arrived.

It took more than five hours to bring the fire under control and to damp the area down, with 20 officers and a height vehicle at the scene.

Maidstone Road was closed throughout the incident.
