THE biggest Kent League crowd of the season to date – 303 - were present at Salters Lane to see runaway leaders Faversham Town beat fellow title rivals Herne Bay 3-0.

In a close first half, only a debatable Lee Shearer penalty separated the sides.

Bay started the second half strongly but it was the Lilywhites who scored twice more, courtesy of Dale Skinner’s exquisite curler from just outside the box, on 50 minutes, and ex-Bay Dave Soutan poking the ball home after a goalmouth scramble eight minutes later.

Barry Morgan’s side were certainly not disgraced, but Faversham were worthy winners on the day.

Full report and reaction in this week’s Herne Bay Times.
