Beating the odds: Baby Amelia has amazed her parents Kate and Michael Arnold with her fighting spirit
The tot was nominated by proud parents Kate and Michael Arnold, who were devastated when Amelia's twin Chloe died at 10 weeks after both were born prematurely.
Amelia battled through injections, head scans and infections to prove herself a fighter and is now amazing medics with her progress.
Mum Kate said: "It was an absolutely marvellous day and we were very humbled by all the other winners' stories. Amelia is such a little fighter and it's only when you attend an event like the Big Heart Awards that you realise how many other people are fighting their own battles to keep their family strong."
Mother & Baby editor Miranda Levy added: "I was thrilled and delighted to meet the winners of the Big Heart awards. Their stories were truly humbling, and there was hardly a dry eye in the room. What an affirmation of human love and endurance."
