TICKETS for next month's 40th anniversary Championship dinner have now gone on sale.

The event, which takes place at the St Lawrence ground on September 10, is to mark the 40th anniversary of Kent's County Championship success in 1970.

Jamie Clifford, Kent chief executive, said: "We got very enthusiastic feedback from supporters during Canterbury Week and we're hoping for an excellent turnout for the dinner."

All bar two of the 12 survivors from Kent's 1970 team are expected to attend, including the legendary pair who figured in so many dismissals for Kent and England, slow left-armer Derek Underwood and wicketkeeper Alan Knott.

Tickets for the dinner are priced at £50, which will include a complimentary copy of the newly published book about Kent's recent history, Trophies and Tribulations: Forty Years of Kent Cricket, which has been nominated for the Cricket Society/MCC Book of the Year award for 2011.
